I am currently looking for someone to work extra as a personal assistant for me (and maybe for some of my friends). With me, you work in 24-hour shifts, which means you can accumulate a lot of time without having to commit to many days. This is therefore perfect for you who are studying, freelancing, building your own business, or doing something else flexible.

Sometimes shorter shifts occur, for example when I need double assistance, so it is an advantage if you do not live too far away – but I have had assistants living in other cities as well, and it has worked just fine.

About me

I am a creative, engaged, and active woman in my 40s living in Östermalm, Stockholm, with my two extremely social and very determined cats, as well as perhaps a few too many plants. If you start working with me, you can expect a fair amount of cat hair on your clothes and dirt under your nails.

I have a muscle disease that means I need personal assistance to do physical things in everyday life, but I am always the one who controls and plans my days. This means that you as an assistant provide practical service in what I want to do, but not that you take care of me.

In my daily life, I work with rights issues, both professionally and voluntarily. I am also an avid knowledge junkie and learning addict, so I often have some course going on alongside my job. (Okay, I admit it can sometimes get a bit too much.)

In my free time, I try to fit in activities like concerts, theaters, museum visits, and dinners with friends. I also love just being at home; taking care of the home, organizing my life and my belongings in various smart ways, or just relaxing with a computer game. I also travel sometimes, both for work and privately. It can be everything from short trips within Sweden to longer stays abroad, so it’s good if you’re open to hanging out occasionally.

About you

My requirements are that you:

• Can handle working 24-hour shifts.
• Identify as a woman or non-binary.
• Understand, speak, and write Swedish fluently.
• Are smoke-free and around 25 to 50 years old.
• Have a B driver's license and experience driving a car.
• Can work both weekdays and weekends, including holidays occasionally.
• Have good physical health, as the job involves some lifting and transfers.
• Are vaccinated against COVID.
• Can tolerate cats and other airborne allergens.
• Are flexible with both tasks and working hours.
• Are service-minded and can adapt to different situations.
• Are attentive and have a sense of other people's privacy.
• Believe in human rights and the equal value of all people.

Most of the people who work with me have a background in various cultural and service professions. Some have worked with animals or nature, or engage in some type of sport. Previous experience in personal assistance is not necessary, but you should not be afraid to be close to another person and be willing to help. You are welcome to be skilled in things like nails, hair, sewing, crafts, plants, cooking, cleaning, or similar. If you have worked night or 24-hour shifts before, that is likely an advantage. Your personal qualities are very important. After all, we are close to each other for 24 hours at a time.

What is most important to me is that you have the right attitude and that we get along well in everyday life. I am looking for someone who has a sense of when to take initiative and when to let things be, and who understands and respects my way of living. You do not need instructions all the time, but you should also check in before you go full throttle. When we are out in social contexts, it is important that you can blend in without taking over and with a sense that it is my life and context we are in. It’s about being attentive, humble, and having a certain sensitivity. And you need to enjoy learning things and doing things in new ways, even if it differs a bit from how you would have done it.

About the employment

You will be employed by my own company, which I run together with a friend. I care about my employees and I have low staff turnover, but I also expect a high work ethic in return. Collective agreements and wellness benefits are naturally included. Selection and interviews are ongoing, which means that the position may be filled before the application period has ended.
