Substitute Teacher for Skärholmen's Municipal Preschools
Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. We are now looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.
Skärholmen's district administration is one of Stockholm's 11 district administrations and includes the neighborhoods of Bredäng, Sätra, Skärholmen, and Vårberg. More than 1,000 employees work here for our 37,000 residents. We offer a municipal operation that we are proud of, and we have a fantastic diversity. Welcome with your unique contribution!
Welcome to us!
In Skärholmen's municipal preschools, we always put the child at the center.
We promise each child to provide the tools they need to develop and live in a constantly changing world. Our prioritized goals are language, democracy, and health, where play forms the platform that permeates our education and teaching.
With us, you will have the opportunity to contribute to an operation that values your commitment to children's development through play and learning. We believe in collegial learning and share experiences and learn from each other.
Your Role
As a substitute teacher, you contribute to ensuring that everyday life in the preschool runs smoothly and that care and daily pedagogical work are based on children's participation and choices. Together with other colleagues at the preschool, you help create a positive, meaningful, and developing environment for each child and for the entire group of children. You are engaged and actively participate in the preschool's education and teaching throughout the day. In daily contacts with guardians, you are child-focused and service-oriented.
As a substitute in our units, you are prepared to work at all our addresses and receive work shifts continuously.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is a trained childcare worker. You should have a high school education in the nursing program, child and youth, or another education deemed equivalent by the employer.
Your personal abilities and skills are characterized by your empathetic ability to understand children's perspectives by listening and being curious while being secure in your role. You have good collaboration skills, a positive attitude, and work well with others. As each day is different, you need to be flexible, self-driven, and responsible, and able to adapt to prevailing circumstances. Furthermore, you have a positive attitude towards your work.
You need to have a good command of the Swedish language as you will quickly need to understand our routines and policies and be able to converse with children, colleagues, and guardians.
We will place great emphasis on personal qualities.
Other
We will make selections based on CVs and selection questions that you answer when applying for the position, and therefore we do not accept any personal letters.
Ongoing selection takes place during the recruitment process.
The position includes a background check, and applicants must provide an extract from the police criminal record for schools and preschools before employment occurs.
Welcome with your application! The City of Stockholm works with competency-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each person's competencies and thus counteracting discrimination.
