We are looking for a teacher in maritime safety for the Maritime Safety Section in Berga.
About the Unit
The Naval Warfare School (SSS) supports the naval units with training, development, and unit training. The school conducts training that includes basic soldier and sailor training, basic officer training (officer program and specialist officer training), higher specialist officer training (HSOU), as well as vocational and position training for employed personnel.
The focus of SSS's operations is the naval units' ability for armed combat. SSS is headquartered in Karlskrona and consists of several departments, including the Maritime Safety Department, which is divided into two sections, one in Karlskrona and one in Berga.
Your workplace is located in Berga, Haninge municipality, where you will work in a team of about 10 people with varying competencies. The position is performed in Berga but may involve work at other locations for shorter periods.
Main Responsibilities
You will work as a teacher in protective service. The main tasks are to:
- train in Sealing, Pumping, Support, TLS
- train in clearance and combat repairs
- train in maritime rescue, which includes how to use survival suits, handle lifeboats, and emergency flares
- train in command in combat, LIS
- train in ship firefighting and smoke diving
- train in CPR
Some administrative work will also occur in the form of planning, follow-up, and revision of courses together with colleagues in Karlskrona.
Furthermore, the position will involve assisting with practical tasks such as material maintenance, washing protective clothing, supporting the training administrator, etc., as well as being helpful in the area of CBRN.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- High school education with passing grades
- Driver's license B (manual)

Meritorious
- Completed military service with approved results
- Experience working and/or training in civil or military maritime rescue
- Experience working and/or training in civil or military smoke diving
- Active smoke diver according to AFS 2023:13
- Practical experience working on board ships
- Practical experience in maritime safety that the employer deems relevant
- Forklift license
- Competence in the PRIO system (SAP)
- Good knowledge of the Armed Forces in general and the Navy in particular

The position is a permanent civilian employment, the Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those not employed by the authority.
The employment is 100% with a 40-hour work week.

The Naval Warfare School, SSS, trains officers, specialist officers, sailors, and soldiers at all levels. SSS also conducts studies, trials, and leadership training for ship crews as well as tactics and technology development in the marine area. SSS also has a responsibility for diving and naval medicine in the Armed Forces. SSS is mainly based in Karlskrona in Blekinge but also has a unit in Berga outside Stockholm that specializes in amphibious warfare.
