Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.

Hägersten-Älvsjö is one of 11 district administrations in the City of Stockholm with approximately 3000 employees. Today, we are one of the city's largest districts with about 130,000 inhabitants. In Hägersten-Älvsjö, you are close to the city, transportation, and nature. We offer a dynamic workplace with opportunities for you to develop in your role.

The municipal preschool operations here are the largest in the City of Stockholm, and we work continuously and systematically with the development of the operations based on the competent child and a learning organization.

Welcome to us

Area 5 is located in the Hägersten/Älvsjö district administration, where 4 preschool units with a total of nine preschools are included; Svandammsparken preschools (Kastanjen, Rönneberga & Svandammsgården), Västberga preschools (LM-gården & Metronomen), Telefonplan preschools (Kobran & Smeden), and Midsommarkransen preschools (Paletten & Luren).

We work based on a common value base and vision where participation and influence are two of our cornerstones. We are a strong unit where we have a well-developed organization for collegial learning between and within our preschools. We work exploratively, inspired by Reggio Emilia's philosophy. It is the child's needs, interests, thoughts, and theories that should shape our goal-oriented teaching.

The children's learning processes are made visible, processed, and further challenged with the help of pedagogical documentation. The curiosity of the children and yourself is utilized to develop a learning organization in reflections and other common forums. In these common forums, we work with the unit's focus area “leading together for sustainable development through pedagogical relationships, play, and movement,” which we connect to current research, theory, and practice. We place great importance on close and professional collaboration within the preschool and with guardians.
