We at the LSS unit work with authority exercise according to the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons (LSS) and the Social Services Act (SoL). The unit's overarching goal is to create conditions for increased independence for the target group. The operations are conducted based on the requirements of legislation, political goals, and the municipality's guidelines. The focus of the unit's work within authority exercise is legally secure processing, uniform assessments, and follow-up of decisions and granted interventions.

The unit handles cases concerning both children and adults. The assignment involves processing applications from individuals, investigating needs for interventions, making decisions, ordering interventions, and following up on decisions and how the granted interventions are functioning. The processing includes meetings with users and their relatives, as well as often legal representatives. Collaboration with the region, schools, external providers, and other units within the social administration, such as the Children and Youth Unit, is frequent. You need to feel comfortable collaborating and participating in meetings with multiple participants where you are the convener.

Your assignment

  • You will primarily work with LSS and independently process cases and investigate needs for support and interventions.
  • Your work will consist of receiving applications and conducting investigations to clarify what interventions individuals need to develop and achieve the best possible independence.
  • Your daily work includes documentation, meetings with users, external and internal collaboration, and participation in various meetings.
  • Systematic follow-ups to ensure the goals of the interventions.

What we are looking for in you

  • A degree in social work or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent.
  • Theoretical knowledge of the legislation LSS and SoL is desirable.
  • Experience of authority exercise in the public sector is desirable.

Meritorious:

  • Experience with the target group.

  • It is important to us that you are a stable person with good social skills who can remain calm in difficult situations.
  • You are self-driven, positive, and have the ability to take your own initiatives to ensure that the work flows smoothly.
  • You also have a solution-oriented and empathetic approach, are clear and structured in your work.
  • You have good collaboration skills, take overall responsibility, and place great importance on providing a good reception, both internally and externally.
  • Good ability to express yourself in both speech and writing and that you are well acquainted with the Swedish language.
