You will belong to the unit for preventive work and family law, which currently consists of five parent supporters, six field workers, eight family law secretaries, as well as two group leaders and one unit manager. The unit is relatively newly established and will grow in the future to meet the residents' needs for early and non-assistance assessed interventions. It is a cheerful team that is passionate about preventive work and working directly with residents. The unit collaborates both internally and externally with other actors.

The Assignment

Do you want to help build something new from the ground up - and at the same time make a real difference for children and families? Norrtälje municipality is starting a family center in Hallstavik with a planned start in May. We are therefore looking for two committed and structured parent supporters who want to help develop the operation together with us.

As a parent supporter at the family center, you will work preventively with a focus on children aged 0-6 years and their parents. The assignment involves strengthening parents in their role, contributing to safe upbringing conditions, and creating an easily accessible meeting place for families in Hallstavik. You will be an important part and one of two parent supporters who are starting up the Family Center in the municipality. You will work closely with BVC nurses and be part of the implemented Home Visiting Program.

In the role of parent supporter, you will:

• Offer individual support and advisory conversations to parents
• Hold parent groups and thematic meetings
• Work with parent support programs
• Plan and conduct open activities for children and parents
• Collaborate with BVC, midwifery clinics, open preschools, and social services
• Participate in outreach activities and relationship-building work in the local community

What you need to bring

Requirements

• Degree in social work or education that the employer assesses as equivalent
• Experience working with children and families
• Experience in parent support work and group activities
• Good collaboration skills and professional demeanor
