The Ångbåten service residence is located at Ekerö center, integrated into a residential area with apartments for six adults with various disabilities.

With us, you will play an important role in developing the operations and ensuring pedagogical, qualitative, and individualized support for an independent and meaningful everyday life. It is important that you enjoy collaboration and cooperation, as our units in Ekerö center support each other in staffing during absences or increased needs.

As a support assistant/support pedagogue, you will work closely with the users, focusing on pedagogical methods, participation, and independence. The individual's needs, resources, and goals are always at the center.

It is important that you have a professional approach with a focus on low-arousal responses and clear pedagogy. You should also have good knowledge of various disabilities, such as autism, ADHD, and challenging behaviors.

You have a positive outlook and a strong commitment to people. You are responsible, mature, and enjoy working in a team where you contribute to a good work environment. With us, the best interest of the users is always in focus, and we work with collegial learning.

As a person, you are independent, unpretentious, and have good collaborative skills. The work involves many contacts – with relatives, caseworkers, managers, colleagues, daily activities, and other important people in the individual's life. Therefore, it is important that you are clear, pedagogical, and driven by helping people grow and develop.

Your Mission:

• You provide individually tailored support in daily activities such as personal hygiene, meals, household chores, and leisure – always with the individual's needs in focus.
• You encourage and strengthen the user's independence and participation in decisions that affect their lives.
• You document according to applicable routines and follow implementation plans.
• You collaborate with colleagues, relatives, and other professionals.
• You participate in planning and carrying out activities, both inside and outside the residence.
• You contribute to a safe, inclusive, and stimulating living environment where each individual has the opportunity to develop.
• You manage medications according to delegation.
• You follow routines regarding safety, work environment, and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• You are a trained nursing assistant, preschool teacher, leisure educator, or have an education that the employer assesses as equivalent, or you are a trained support pedagogue.
• Knowledge of pedagogical methods such as AAC, clear pedagogy, and low-arousal responses is meritorious.
• Good documentation skills.
• Responsive, responsible, and engaged.
• Ability to work independently and support colleagues.
