Responsibilities
You will belong to the Swedish Maritime Administration's IT department, which currently consists of about 100 employees. In the IT department, we work closely with each other and the business both physically and digitally. We have the opportunity to work remotely a few days a week while also valuing physical meetings when needed. Close collaboration creates conditions for quick decision-making and smooth cooperation between different roles and departments. The working method is agile, which allows room to contribute new ideas that create both user value and IT benefits throughout the entire lifecycle of IT services. You will work in a unit that has overall responsibility, which means both maintenance (upgrading and further development) and new development or procurement of services within some business areas. The services are both
purchased and self-developed, and there are many integrations in between.
As a Data Center Technician at the Swedish Maritime Administration, you will be responsible together with your agile team for the operation of the server room, hardware, storage, and backup as well as the virtualization platform. Your tasks include:
• Installation, configuration, and maintenance of the Swedish Maritime Administration's server environment to ensure a stable and secure operating environment
• Implementing container-based technologies and tools as well as automating deployment processes
• Identifying and resolving issues while continuously optimizing performance and resource utilization
• Ensuring that the server environments comply with the required security standards
• Monitoring developments and participating in development and change projects where you contribute technical expertise to further develop and implement new solutions that support the future needs of the business.
Who are you?
To be considered for and succeed in the role of Data Center Technician, you need to have:
• An academic degree in IT or several years of experience in the IT field that is deemed equivalent.
• Experience in similar roles and responsibilities in large and complex environments
• Good knowledge of HyperV and VMWare
• Experience in IT and information security
• Experience with automation tools and scripting
• Several years of experience in the IT field, including at least five (5) years in the data center area.
• Basic knowledge of networks
• Good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing
It is an advantage if you have experience with:
• Linux/Unix/Windows-based systems
• Docker and Kubernetes
• VCF

The position may require Swedish citizenship. A security clearance with a background check may be conducted before an employment offer.

How and when?
This recruitment is for a permanent position and is intended to be filled by spring 2026.
Interviews will be held on-site or digitally in weeks 11-13.
The Swedish Maritime Administration may apply a six-month probationary period.
The position may involve military placement at the Swedish Maritime Administration.
The position may require Swedish citizenship. A security clearance with a background check may be conducted before an employment offer.
