Nynäshamn Municipality is seeking an engaged and driven social work student or someone with a completed academic degree to strengthen our fantastic team during the summer! Job Responsibilities

As a summer substitute, your main areas of work will be domestic violence, social contracts, and harmful use and dependency. You will be responsible for and independently manage your cases by investigating, assessing needs, and deciding on the right to interventions. Together with clients, you will work to find solutions that strengthen their resources and opportunities to live an independent life. This involves continuous contacts, mapping, and follow-up of the individual's needs, as well as collaboration with other agencies.

Your tasks will include:

• handling cases within adult services
• helping clients achieve a sustainable social situation
• collaborating with both external and internal actors to create the best possible support

The summer position covers the summer months of June-August, with a flexible start date in the first half of June.

About the Workplace

The main mission of the Social Services is to offer individualized support and services in elderly care, disability services, child and family services, adult services, and financial assistance. We are present for the municipal residents through all stages of life.

The Needs-Based Support department consists of reception, elderly and disability services, adults, and children and youth. The Adult unit consists of two workgroups, with the other focusing on financial support. Within the Adult unit, six social workers work with domestic violence (ViNR), social contracts, individuals with harmful use and dependency, perpetrators of violence, dropouts from gang crime, individuals affected by human trafficking and prostitution, as well as other victims who need support and interventions from social services.

We are a smaller unit that places a high value on community and ensuring that citizens have easily accessible social services with close access to high-quality interventions. What We Are Looking For

To succeed in this role, you have:

• ongoing social work education, at least in the 4th semester (law), an academic degree in social work, or a degree deemed equivalent by the employer
• good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form

It is meritorious if you have:

• experience in social work
• experience in case management
• a B driver's license

Since both trauma and comorbidity are present among many clients, it is crucial that you have a good approach, are calm, and understand the process, while also being able to motivate development when a client may have limited ability. You are empathetic and have a distinctly good ability to collaborate by being attentive, listening, and communicative. To create efficiency, you plan, organize, and prioritize your work and, based on various considerations, make correct assessments, weigh complex information, and make decisions in accordance with them.
