Our Operations

The Elderly Services Unit is responsible for individuals over 65 years old who require care and support services from the municipality. Decisions are made based on the Social Services Act and are implemented by both external and internal providers. The workgroup consists of case officers for elderly services, case officers for housing adaptation grants, fee administrators, team leaders, and unit managers. Employees in the unit are driven by a desire to develop to meet future challenges and demands. We have well-established collaboration with other stakeholders and providers, which is a prerequisite for ensuring the quality of elderly care.

Your Mission

As a case officer in the unit, you play a central role for individuals over 65 years old in need of services from elderly care. Your main task is to investigate, assess, and make decisions according to applicable legislation, the Social Services Act (SoL), and other relevant regulations. The work should be characterized by legal certainty, structure, and a professional approach, as well as effective resource utilization within the framework of applicable legislation.

Central Tasks

• Conduct needs assessments and investigations in dialogue with the individual, and where applicable, their network.
• Make decisions about services in accordance with legislation and local guidelines.
• Follow up on granted services and ensure they are implemented and meet the individual's needs.
• Document according to current requirements for legal certainty, clarity, and accessibility.
• Collaborate with internal and external actors, such as healthcare providers, service providers, schools, other authorities, and civil society.

Your Experience

To fulfill the role of case officer for elderly services, experience in public authority operations from similar roles and good knowledge of applicable legislation and guidelines governing the work is required. Good knowledge of the division of responsibilities between the municipality and the region, as well as good communication skills – both verbal and written. Knowledge of investigation and follow-up according to the IBIC working method is an advantage.
