Are you driven by the desire to make a difference in the lives of young people and families? Do you want to contribute to giving all young people the best conditions during their placement time? We are now looking for an engaged social worker for the youth unit.
In the youth unit, we have the position of social worker with the police, who currently reports directly to the unit manager.
On the unit, we also have an investigation team and a placement team, SIG team, school coordinators, and targeted contact persons. Each team has a group leader who leads our employees in their daily work. We have contract coordinators in the unit who provide operational support for social workers when our youth are facing a placement. We also have a contract controller who ensures that we use serious actors. Quality is important to us!
The youth unit is part of the area of operations for children, youth, and families in Hägersten-Älvsjö, together with five other units; reception, children, children and youth, foster homes, and family support. The area of operations is led by an acting area manager and six unit managers.

Your role
As a social worker with the police, your main role is to collaborate with the police and promote collaboration between the police and social workers working with children and youth cases. You should drive and develop collaboration with the police forward and act as a contact person between social services and the police. The role means that you will sit with the police and be available as a consultative function/advisor. To be able to stay in the police premises, you must undergo a security check and be approved. You should participate in the collaboration forums that exist with the police. The role requires that you have good knowledge of authority exercise and in working with youth in crime and at risk of crime. You should assist with support and competence enhancement for social workers, as well as for the police authority. This includes holding workshops/lectures about social services' work for the police, as well as about the target group of youth at risk for social workers. It is of great importance that you feel secure with confidentiality legislation as collaboration requires good knowledge in the area.
Your tasks include, for example:
- Contact person between social services and police Skärholmen/Globen.
- Drive/develop collaboration forward between social services and police.
- Share situation reports from/with social services and police.
- Consultative function/advisor in case of concern reports.
- Hold workshops/lectures about social services' work with children and youth.
- Develop new and joint working methods and routines in joint cases between social services and the police.
- Participate in interrogations of youth.
- Participate in police Globen and Skärholmen collaboration meetings regarding youth.
- Function as a support function for social workers within the area of operations regarding the target group of youth in crime/risk zone for crime.
- Contact person/support person regarding youth within the framework of exit activities.
- Go to the detention center and hold MI conversations with deprived youth.
Your competence and experience
We are looking for you who have:
- Degree in social work
- At least three years of experience in authority exercise within the youth target group
- Previous experience of social work with young criminals
It is advantageous if you have experience with:
- Good knowledge of the district area
- Training in SAVRY

The position is a temporary employment of about 1 year, with the possibility of extension.
