Job Description

As an acting judge at Hälsinglands District Court, you will handle all types of cases and matters that occur at the court. Being an acting judge means that you perform qualified legal work that is very interesting and varied. No day is the same, and the work is both free and responsible. There are good opportunities to plan and manage your work independently and to some extent work from home.

Qualifications

You who apply should have experience from working as a member or clerk in a court of appeal or have performed the duties of a court clerk for at least six months. It is an advantage if you are or have been a permanent judge or a court assessor. The role of acting judge places high demands on legal skill, judgment, ability to collaborate, work capacity, and independence. You should meet the requirements set by the Judicial Appointments Board (link (https://www.domstol.se/globalassets/filer/domstol/domarnamnden/kravprofil-for-ordinarie-domare.pdf)) for permanent judges. To be considered for employment, you must meet high standards regarding judgment, security awareness, and suitability. We require that you uphold legality, democratic values, and the state values that govern the operations of the Swedish Courts. We place great emphasis on personal qualities.

About the Workplace

Hälsinglands District Court is a pleasant workplace characterized by close cooperation between professional groups within the court. The organization conducts continuous business development, and we work together to maintain a legally secure and efficient administration of justice of high quality. The court moved into new, purpose-built premises in central Hudiksvall in the spring of 2023. There are approximately 30 employees at the court. Hudiksvall is located by the sea and offers great opportunities for a rich outdoor life with proximity to forests and mountains. The nearest beach is just 10 minutes from the city center. In winter, there are good opportunities for skiing. Hälsingland has several ski slopes. Järvsöbacken and Hassela Ski Resort are within the district. In Hudiksvall, distances are short, and there are good communications, making it easy to travel to work. There are also good transport options by train or car to and from Hudiksvall.

Additional Information

The positions are temporary employment contracts for 6 months or at most 12 months. Start date is according to agreement.
