Our Workplace

The Southern Gothenburg unit primarily operates in central and western parts of Gothenburg, including the municipalities of Mölndal and Härryda. We are about 150 employees working within the unit, which is divided into different sections. In some assignments, we operate throughout Gothenburg and all surrounding municipalities.

Our mission is to connect employers with job seekers, prioritize those who are far from the labor market, and contribute to increased employment. We also work with labor market-oriented rehabilitation through guiding and job-preparatory measures.

Starting March 1, we are part of the Coordinated Support operational area and work with job seekers and employers who have a great need for support. This means that we ensure that support from registration to work or education is cohesive and that we meet job seekers and employers frequently in physical meetings.

About the Position

All employment officers have a broad foundational competence with a good ability to make accurate assessments, plan for relevant measures, and match against available jobs.

In addition, one can have one or more roles and focuses in which one is particularly knowledgeable. This may involve making certain types of decisions, collaborating and coordinating around a job seeker or employer. It may also involve providing special support to job seekers with disabilities in introducing them to a workplace or collaborating with the Social Insurance Agency regarding individuals who are on sick leave or receiving activity compensation.

You will work with:

  • Informing and communicating about the Employment Agency's mission, services, and rights and obligations to job seekers and employers.
  • Assessing job seekers' need for support, defining goals, establishing action plans, and following up to ensure they are relevant.
  • Assessing employers' need for support through close collaboration with them.
  • Providing basic guidance on the labor market, educational paths, and managing and delivering relevant information to internal and external parties.
  • Documenting information securely and acting in accordance with relevant regulations, agreements, and processes.
  • Gathering and assessing necessary information to decide on measures or programs.

Our Offer

The position is a permanent full-time employment that begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date by agreement. The place of employment is Gothenburg.

More About Working With Us

Basic Requirements for the Position

  • University/higher education of at least 180 higher education credits (120 credits according to the previous system)
  • Alternatively, you have been employed as an employment officer at the Employment Agency and are assessed to have good prospects of meeting today's requirements for employment officers
  • And at least 2 years of work experience, collectively working at least 50 percent over a total of 2 years
  • Good knowledge of Swedish, meaning a good ability to communicate in speech and writing, as well as high reading comprehension

Other Merits for the Position

  • Experience working with people with disabilities in the last two years
  • Experience of authority exercise and collaboration with other actors, such as authorities, municipalities, complementary actors, and healthcare institutions
  • Experience working with employers, for example, outreach employer work aimed at finding workplaces with employment opportunities
  • Driving license B
