We are Gothenburg! We are now looking for you who want to work as a Data Protection Officer for the City of Gothenburg's administrations and companies.

The work involves both supportive and auditing tasks based on GDPR.

The Data Protection Unit is a central function within the City of Gothenburg that assists all of the city's administrations and companies with advice, information, support, and compliance monitoring based on the Data Protection Regulation and related data protection legislation. The unit consists of seven specialists, with different backgrounds and expertise, who work together to provide the role of Data Protection Officer to the city.

We are looking for someone who is interested in data protection and issues related to privacy, IT, and digitalization. The work involves extensive contacts with the city's various operations while also presenting many legal, technical, and practical questions to handle in an increasingly digitalized world. You will have primary responsibility for a number of the city's municipal companies and work closely with various functions responsible for data protection issues within these companies.

As part of the role, you will, among other things:

• provide advice on data protection issues
• monitor the compliance of operations with the requirements of the Data Protection Regulation
• assist and provide advice in the event of personal data incidents and impact assessments
• conduct data protection legal investigations
• organize and conduct information initiatives and training
• monitor the external environment and contribute to the unit's competence development
• maintain contact with data subjects.

You will be employed as a business controller.

About You

You have a university degree that we consider relevant for the position, such as in public administration, law, or IT. Additionally, you have experience working with data protection issues and good knowledge of the Data Protection Regulation and related data protection legislation. We consider it an advantage to have work experience from practical legal work or experience from working in the public sector, such as within a municipality, at a government agency, or through legal clerkship at a court.

To succeed in this role, you need to be a team player but also someone who can handle significant responsibility independently and is calm and secure in pressured and difficult situations. You understand the common mission and work to make it as good as possible. You are good at communicating both verbally and in writing and feel comfortable in the role of presenter. You work well with others and have good social skills while being clear in your professional role and maintaining a high level of integrity.
