Job Responsibilities

As a student assistant in the registration and archives unit, you will be offered a developing job and gain a good insight into archival work at a government authority. You will work with various tasks related to the court's archival operations. Primarily, it involves organizing and cataloging documents; both within the framework of the Court of Appeal's physical archive management and our ongoing digitization processes. The registration and archives unit is part of the administrative department and is responsible for classifying and registering incoming cases as well as for the Court of Appeal's archive and information management.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who

  • Is studying archival science or another education deemed equivalent. You should be pursuing full-time studies at the university level and have completed at least 60 credits in any subject, and not have started a doctoral program.
  • Has good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.
  • Is responsible, flexible, meticulous, and efficient, and has good judgment.
  • Should also have well-developed collaboration skills and contribute to a pleasant work environment.

Previous experience in similar work/internship within the Swedish Courts is highly meritorious.

The employment concerns one or more fixed-term positions as a student assistant during the spring semester of 2026. Working hours will be during the day in the Court of Appeal's premises and based on the principle that you should be able to combine studies with work. The employment rate will be determined by the needs of the organization and can be up to 25 percent of a full-time position.

About the Workplace

The Court of Appeal for Western Sweden is the second largest of the country's six courts of appeal. The main task of the Court of Appeal is to review the cases and matters that are appealed from the district courts that are part of the Court of Appeal's jurisdiction. The Court of Appeal has approximately 150 employees and is organized into four adjudicating departments and one administrative department. The Court of Appeal is located in historic premises centrally in Gothenburg at Packhusplatsen.
