Portfolio Manager Physical Trading

Do you also like to be involved in developing new products within the electricity market? Then this position as a Portfolio Manager for Physical Trading might be for you!
Your Task
As a portfolio manager, you will be responsible for Göteborg Energi's physical gas trading and actively participate in the development of products and working methods within flexibility, ancillary service market, and electricity trading.
The team is responsible for:
- Forecasting and trading customers' needs for natural gas in relevant marketplaces in Sweden, Denmark, and Germany.
- Balancing responsibility and transport bookings in the markets where we are active.
- Market analysis, project work, and continuous development related to the European gas market and our working methods.
- Conducting training and informing about markets and prices.
The team will soon begin forecasting for electricity production and also has a significant role and responsibility in developing Göteborg Energi's investment in managing flexibility services and resources within the electricity market. In several of our development projects, we see a need for programming and data management and are therefore looking for someone with good knowledge in this area.
The team is on standby to solve balancing responsibilities and trading even outside regular working hours.
Your Team
The Trading department within the business area of Electricity and Gas Products consists of 8 employees. The team includes three portfolio managers in physical trading, as well as our financial trading and back office. We work closely together in continuous development as the pace of development in the industry is high. As a physical trader, you are very close to the market and can quickly follow market developments in real time.

Your Competence
We are looking for someone with a master's degree or equivalent with a relevant focus for the job in mathematics/statistics/data or energy.
We would like you to have knowledge and practical experience in programming and handling large datasets.
Previous experience in the energy sector, preferably within the gas and/or electricity market, is an advantage. Experience from the flexibility/ancillary service market is also desirable.
We want to work with someone who is meticulous and analytical with a developed ability to make decisions in time-pressured situations. As a portfolio manager, it is valuable to have good communication skills and initiative. We believe that you possess these qualities and that you enjoy giving presentations to groups, are trust-building, and have good language skills in writing and speaking (Swedish and English) to communicate where we are active both internally and externally.
The work as a portfolio manager requires the ability to make independent decisions and act on sound business grounds.
