Lerum Municipality is now seeking an economist with a focus on system management.

The position is placed in the central finance unit under the area of finance. The unit consists of twelve economists, five finance assistants, one system manager, and one unit manager. The finance unit's responsibility is to coordinate and develop the municipality's financial processes such as accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting. Our work is characterized by a holistic perspective, analysis, simplification, and uniformity, and of course, good service! In our development work, we are currently focusing on increasing the degree of digitalization and automation to free up time for analysis and contribute to the development of the municipality's operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In the role of economist, you are an important part of the finance unit. You have both a supportive and consultative role in follow-up, forecasting, budgeting, and year-end work, as well as responsibility for other common tasks in a finance unit such as reconciliations and bookkeeping.

Together with the other economists in the unit, you work to develop the economist role, create uniform routines, spread knowledge, and contribute to the municipality's overall governance and support the municipality's managers within your assigned area.

A central part of the assignment is system management and further development of one of our financial systems, such as Unit4 and Hypergene. Together with the current system manager, you will identify needs, requirements, and wishes, as well as work to ensure that the system is used effectively and reliably. You will participate in or lead projects and development efforts and are expected to monitor the external environment and take the initiative for improvements.

Alongside the work of further developing the municipality's financial systems, you will support and further develop our teams' follow-up and analysis work concerning the municipality's education sector. Depending on future needs and the municipality's development of system management, other operations may also be relevant to support.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a strong commitment to digitalization and automation and who has a desire to develop systems that support the municipality's financial processes while working closely with management support.

We are looking for someone with relevant post-secondary education, for example, with a focus on economics, public administration, or IT - alternatively, several years of work experience in finance, which the employer assesses as equivalent. We see that you have experience working as an economist, controller, or system manager. You have good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing.

It is advantageous if you also have:

• experience with financial and operational systems such as Unit4 or Hypergene
• worked in the public sector
• worked with complex business systems such as financial or decision support systems
• experience in providing user support, informing, and teaching.
• experience working as an economist in the education sector in municipal operations

You have an interest in finance and systems and enjoy working both independently and in a group. We want you to be curious, enjoy challenges, and want to take significant personal responsibility. You are development-oriented and have strong self-motivation. You have the ability to see the big picture and are structured and analytical with good communication skills.
