About the Company

At E. Nilsson's Funeral Agency, we have been by families' sides in Småland for over 120 years. With roots in Växjö and offices in Rottne, Lammhult, Lessebo, Ingelstad, Hovmantorp, and Rydaholm, we are close when life changes. Today, we are 12 dedicated employees who work every day to create security and care.

We are with you from the first contact until everything is concluded, whether it involves planning a personal funeral ceremony, arranging a memorial service, handling burial, gravestone issues, or assisting with estate inventory and inheritance distribution. Thanks to our own legal department, transport department, and our bearers, we can offer comprehensive support throughout the entire process.

Job Responsibilities

As a transporter at E. Nilsson's Funeral Agency, you have one of the most significant and varied roles in the organization. The role spans the entire chain – from logistics and inventory management to ceremonial presence and meeting with relatives.

The work is mainly during the day, but on-call duty and work outside regular hours may occur.

Your responsibilities include, among others:

  • Logistics and Inventory Responsibility You are responsible for the storage of coffins and urns, inventory control, orders, and receiving and delivering shipments.

  • Care and Transport You carry out pickups of the deceased from various environments and are responsible for a dignified and professional handling, including wrapping and coffin placement.

  • Ceremony and Representation You transport the coffin to and from funeral ceremonies and act as the agency's representative during the ceremony. You ensure that everything practical works and meet relatives and guests with calm, respect, and security.

  • Personal Farewells and Viewings You participate in and prepare personal farewells and viewings, where your role is to create a serene and dignified atmosphere.

  • Administration and Planning You are responsible for the logistical planning around your assignments and related administration to ensure quality and traceability at every step.

The workplace is mainly in Växjö, but work at our other offices in the area may occur.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who enjoys combining practical and physical work with a professional, empathetic, and representative approach. You are secure in yourself, structured, and have a natural respect for the ethical and human dimensions of the assignment.

  • Have good physical and mental strength and can handle heavy lifting and work in an environment where you meet people in grief.

  • Are orderly, structured, and have a logistical mindset.

  • Have a neat and representative demeanor and feel comfortable in formal settings.

  • Work meticulously and take great responsibility for your tasks.

  • Have a good ability to switch between independent work and teamwork.

You also need:
  • A valid driver's license (B).

  • Access to your own car.

  • Excellent knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

  • Good computer skills for administrative work.

We place great importance on personal suitability. Previous experience in transport, logistics, or funeral services is an advantage but not a requirement.
