JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Working in the area of LSS (the Act on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), you will work in one of the operations such as group homes, daily activities, short-term accommodation for children, or personal assistance. Working in these operations is an important mission that, by law, guarantees that individuals with extensive and permanent disabilities receive good living conditions. Individuals should receive the help they need in their daily lives and have the opportunity to influence the support and services they receive. The goal is for the individual to have the opportunity to live like others.

As a support assistant in our various LSS operations, your work consists of supporting an individual with disabilities. This includes everything from assisting with meals, providing personal care, helping with personal hygiene, medication management, participating in activities, to motivating the individual to become more independent in their daily activities. The foundation of the job is to support the individual in developing or maintaining their own abilities.

It is important that you have a calm demeanor, a pedagogical approach, and a solution-focused mindset with the individual's best interests in focus. In addition to these qualities, we also see that you are attentive, responsible, can set boundaries, and are secure in yourself. You need to be able to work both in a group and alone, where you need to communicate and collaborate with other staff and with the relatives of the individuals. You need to be able to work in a structured manner and manage documentation in our various systems.

Our various operations are located in Lenhovda, Norrhult, Åseda, and Alstermo.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who are applying should be interested in working with people, be flexible, and responsible.

Education and/or experience in the respective work area and a driver's license are merits. A driver's license is needed in some cases to reach the workplace and to drive in service.

As documentation is part of your duties, it is important that you master the Swedish language in both speech and writing.

The holiday period is during June, July, and August. We prioritize applicants who can work both holiday periods (weeks 26-29 and weeks 30-33). A mandatory introduction will take place before the summer temporary position begins.

OTHER

If you are considered for employment, the employer will request an extract from the criminal record. The municipal council has decided that all new hires must present a criminal record extract before employment. The extract to be shown is the one for work in schools or preschools.
