JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Växjö municipality wants to contribute to children's and adults' access to meaningful leisure time. The Fritidsbanken increases opportunities to try new activities by lending out sports and outdoor equipment for free. The operation thus contributes to a sustainable society through the reuse of equipment and to improving public health through increased physical activity and meaningful leisure time. The Fritidsbanken is organized under the culture and leisure administration's recreation department and currently consists of a manager, a supervisor, and staff from the municipality's daily operations and labor market initiatives.

We are now looking for 2 activity leaders for the summer of 2026 for our highly appreciated summer initiative where the work involves lending out sports and outdoor equipment at Evedal and Kampaängen. Through this, we want to make it easy for children and young people to borrow equipment that can lead to a more fun and active summer vacation. In addition to activity leaders, the operation will also be staffed by summer vacation youth aged 16-18 years. You will have close cooperation with the other staff of the Fritidsbanken.

As an activity leader, you will be responsible for the management and lending of the equipment. You should ensure that the equipment is in good condition and safe to use, and that lending/returning is registered. You are also responsible for planning and implementing activities that support and enhance this summer initiative. In the role of activity leader, you will also be responsible for supervising the summer vacation youth. You will have close cooperation with the other staff of the Fritidsbanken.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have at least a high school education and work experience relevant to the assignment. You have a fundamental interest in sports. We also prefer that you have experience in leading youth/youth activities.

The work requires that you are responsible, creative, and take your own initiatives. You must be good at collaborating and communicating with others. We expect that you enjoy working in a service-oriented manner, value good interactions with visitors or customers, and have the ability to guide summer vacation youth in the same spirit.
