JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a colleague to join our small but strong and forward-looking team of leisure leaders in Älmhult Municipality. The leisure center's activities have expanded significantly during 2020-2022 with several new opening times to make the services more accessible to more people. We have come a long way in our development work but do not want to stop. We hope to find a driven, responsible, and creative colleague who wants to continue this work with us, a continued journey full of laughter and love for the role of leisure leader both at the centers, in schools, and in the community.
All our activities are carried out together with young people and colleagues. We strive to work with good foresight and clarity. We evaluate ourselves through reflections after each open session at the centers and hold team meetings every week where we collectively reflect, evaluate, and plan the activities. We care about ongoing quality work.
The leisure center's work is conducted both during the day and in the evening, with weekend work occurring once a month on a Saturday during the spring as a trial. Changes in the schedule may occur during larger events and school breaks or study days.
Currently, we work with grades 6 to high school at two different leisure centers. We also have afterschool disco for grades 5-6 one to two times per term.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who is an educated leisure leader, social pedagogue, or has other education deemed equivalent. We place great emphasis on well-being both at and outside of work. Previous experience working with children and youth is an advantage. As we spend a lot of time outdoors in nature, we view experience in activities such as scouting or being active in sports positively.
Having some form of leadership training and being active in football, floorball, or volleyball is a merit, especially if you can easily lead youth in sports contexts.
You are a secure and stable adult role model for our youth and a good example in what you do. It is important that you identify with our core values of equality.
As an employee in our organization, the ability to meet and show interest in others, especially youth, is of utmost importance. You have an easy time building strong and sustainable relationships with young people and are interested in listening to their thoughts and strengthening their self-image as a positive force in society.
We are a small team that is very dependent on each other and each other's skills. You feel comfortable sometimes working independently, but here we do a lot together. We are flexible and responsible and strive to find new ways to work where needed. It is crucial that you take initiative and can easily communicate your ideas with the group.
A driver's license and relevant education are required for the position.
