We run a well-functioning health center located in Grums, about a 10-minute walk from the bus station and a 20-minute drive from Karlstad.

Your Workplace

The health center has approximately 7000 registered patients and is operated by Region Värmland. The health center belongs to the Southern Karlstad operational area, which includes the health centers Grums, Gripen, Tullholmen, Västerstrand, Skoghall, our digital unit health center Värmland, and the emergency center in Karlstad. The health center's team consists of about 20 employees in the professional categories of doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, medical administrators, foot care therapists, rehabilitation coordinators, and unit managers. Until the beginning of 2026, a psychotherapist also worked at the health center, and we now wish to replace that position with a psychologist to complement our team!

In recent years, there has been a focus on improving the quality of care, our routines, and our working methods, which has yielded good results. We have daily interdisciplinary team rounds and have been on track with annual check-ups and waiting lists for a couple of years now. We have high accessibility for our patients and are constantly working to improve the operation.

Your Responsibilities

As a psychologist in general medicine, you will meet patients aged 18 and older with mild to moderate mental health issues. Common reasons for seeking help include depression, anxiety, stress-related health issues, sleep problems, trauma, and domestic violence. The psychologist's task is to assess and treat these various conditions. The most common treatment methods are CBT (including iCBT) and PDT, but supportive conversations, crisis support, and screening for neuropsychiatric conditions are also provided. Treatment can be given individually or in groups, and you can advantageously hold psychoeducational interventions and open lectures.

We have a good collaboration with Grums municipality and see opportunities to strengthen this further regarding patients with mental health issues. In Grums, there is a growing need for accessible psychological resources. Many residents face challenges related to life situations, health, and well-being. An accessible conversation clinic and psychologist in the area could contribute to strengthening mental health and promoting quality of life in the municipality. As a psychologist at the health center, you can play a central role in this development work.

Your Skills and Competencies

We are looking for a licensed psychologist with experience in treatment work. You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. As a person, you are flexible, engaged, and confident in your professional role. You have a good ability to work independently while enjoying being part of a team where collaboration is central. We place great importance on personal suitability and are looking for a positive person with their own drive who appreciates working with development and quality.
