Clinical pathology is part of laboratory medicine in Värmland, alongside the specialties of clinical chemistry, clinical microbiology, and transfusion medicine. The collaboration between the specialties is strong, and especially clinical pathology and clinical microbiology cooperate regarding molecular biological analyses.

In addition to daily work, we also work on continuously improving our operations, and we see you as an important part of that work. One area we are actively working on is the introduction of molecular pathological methods.

Your Responsibilities

You will have varied and stimulating tasks within a broad spectrum of different organ areas. In your daily work, you will participate in the dissection of specimens, histological and cytological diagnostics, as well as autopsy activities. You will also participate in the supervision of residents and in multidisciplinary rounds.

As a resident, you will receive a well-planned and structured education according to the current goal description, with several specialists available for daily supervision.

Your Knowledge and Competencies

We are looking for you who are a specialist doctor in clinical pathology and have broad competence in several diagnostic areas, or you who want to develop into a broad general pathologist with the opportunity for deepening in one or more organ areas. Alternatively, we are looking for you who wish to pursue a specialist training in clinical pathology.

Our operations are accredited in several diagnostic areas, and we consider it important that you work carefully and structured with a strong quality awareness. We also see that you are goal- and result-oriented and can see the bigger picture. Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities and the ability to collaborate.
