We are now looking for a psychologist to complement our team!

Your workplace

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is the region's specialist resource for children and adolescents with moderate to severe mental health issues.

Together with other actors in the region, we are tasked with providing equitable, needs-based, and cost-effective care for children and young people and their families. Collaboration with families and other stakeholders such as schools and social services is a significant and important part of our work.

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is a large workplace with about 200 employees from various professional backgrounds. We work in interdisciplinary teams and take collective responsibility for the patients belonging to the team. The patient is always our primary focus.

Reception 3 is one of three base clinics in the department. We work with children and adolescents living in the eastern parts of Värmland, including the municipalities of Torsby, Hagfors, Sunne, Munkfors, Forshaga, Kil, and Karlstad. Our team consists of a unit manager, team leader, doctors, nurses, psychologists, social workers, and administrative staff.

With us, you will have real opportunities to influence the development of the organization. We value our employees' ideas and engagement and see your professional contribution as a central part of our continued development.

Collaboration is an essential part of our mission, where you as a psychologist are a vital link in knowledge development. Currently, about 29 psychologists work at Reception 3. Psychologists have regular professional meetings and collaborative sessions to work across clinic boundaries and further develop their skills. Additionally, psychologists also receive external supervision in small groups. There are good opportunities for professional development and further training.

Your tasks

As a psychologist, you play a very important role in the work that takes place at Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. You are expected to work both closely with patients and consultatively with colleagues and partners. The patient-centered work is conducted both individually and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary manner.

As a psychologist, you will meet children and adolescents, their guardians, and other important individuals, and you will be responsible for conducting psychological assessments, investigations, and treatments. The role is flexible in that you can choose whether to focus on assessment or treatment. In the consultative role, you will contribute the psychological perspective and specific expertise in individual patient cases as well as in overarching method development.

Your knowledge and competencies

We are looking for someone who is a licensed psychologist or is currently undergoing PTP training and is expected to be licensed by 2026. Previous experience in child and adolescent psychiatry is an advantage.

As a person, you thrive in a role where you can work independently and in close collaboration with colleagues and patients. You easily adapt when situations change and take on new challenges with a flexible approach. At the same time, you work in a structured manner and ensure that messages and information are communicated clearly and pedagogically to all involved.
