Licensed Audiologist with Educational Focus

Your Workplace
The hearing care service is a regional operation with about 50 employees under the Ear, Nose, and Throat Clinic (ENT). The operation is organized regionally, which provides good conditions for collaboration between different professions as well as short decision-making paths and lead times.
Within hearing care, audiologists, doctors, social workers, engineers, and other specialists work in interdisciplinary teams with the patient at the center. Collaboration is a central part of our working method and aims to offer a cohesive, person-centered, and high-quality hearing rehabilitation.
We are now looking for an engaged audiologist with an educational focus who wants to work with adult patients in hearing rehabilitation. The position is based in Karlstad with a regional assignment and involves close cooperation with both the adult team and other functions within hearing care.

Your Responsibilities
In this position, you will primarily work with educational hearing rehabilitation for adults with hearing loss. The work aims to strengthen the patient's understanding of their hearing situation and provide conditions for effective communication in everyday life, work life, and social contexts.
Your responsibilities include, among other things:
- planning and conducting individual and group-based educational hearing interventions
- holding group meetings and training sessions for individuals with hearing loss, and if necessary, for relatives
- providing educational support to patients undergoing cochlear implant assessment or other advanced hearing rehabilitation
- giving in-depth information about the consequences of hearing loss, communication strategies, and adaptations
- providing advice on the use of hearing technology in various environments, such as at home, in the workplace, or in studies
- collaborating with other professionals within hearing care and the ENT operation to ensure cohesive and person-centered rehabilitation.
The position may be combined with other tasks within hearing care based on the needs of the organization and the applicant's competencies.
Your Knowledge and Skills
We are looking for someone who is a licensed audiologist.
It is an advantage if you have:
- experience in hearing rehabilitation for adults
- interest in or experience with educational work and patient education
- experience working with patients with severe hearing loss and/or cochlear implants
- experience working with group activities, training, or supervision
- the ability to explain complex information in an accessible way.

You enjoy working independently but value teamwork and actively contribute to the development of the organization. You are flexible, which allows you to adapt to changing situations and take initiative when needed.
