Your Workplace
The Psychology Unit has several different assignments within Region Värmland, primarily within specialized healthcare for adults and children.
This provides unique opportunities for collegial exchange and to combine different assignments. The Psychology Unit currently consists of 22 psychologists, of which two are PTP psychologists. We work together to create breadth and depth in the psychological perspective.
Today, we primarily work in areas such as neurology and rehabilitation, pediatric medicine, insurance medical investigations, pain rehabilitation, stress-related health issues, post-COVID, and oncology. We are now looking for another colleague who wants to be part of our wonderful team.
The position is a permanent employment at 100% and will involve a shared assignment within the Psychology Unit. You will have the opportunity to combine two exciting areas, the Neuropsychological Clinic and the Clinic for Rehabilitation of Complex Conditions, with a working degree of 50% in each assignment.
As an employee within the Psychology Unit, you belong to the Health and Rehabilitation area, and within the Psychology Unit, you have great opportunities for close collegial support and collaboration with your colleagues.
Your Responsibilities
The psychological interventions within the neurology and rehabilitation clinic mainly consist of neuropsychological assessments, where much of the challenge lies in translating the results so that the assessment can be helpful for the patient. Other interventions include assessment conversations, shorter treatment contacts, patient and relative education, teamwork, and follow-up/rehabilitation interventions. Several psychologists, including one with a specialist position, share the various assignments within the neurology and rehabilitation area.
The Clinic for Rehabilitation of Complex Conditions involves assessing, investigating, mapping, and in some cases treating patients with complex long-term issues based on a team-based approach. For example, pronounced fatigue/exhaustion, brain fatigue, long-term pain that has not been diagnosed and has not received adequate help previously. The assignment may also include providing a so-called second opinion.
The aim is to reduce patients' need for many healthcare contacts and, when possible, reduce medication use. The interventions should also strengthen self-efficacy, increase quality of life, and where applicable, contribute to increased work ability. Patients are then referred to the appropriate level of care. The interventions also aim to improve the living situation for relatives and children.
You will be an important part of a team where different professions such as doctors, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, nursing assistants, and medical administrators collaborate closely to provide person-centered, evidence-based care. The Post-COVID clinic is also included in this unit. In your sub-assignment within the Psychology Unit, you will work with psychological assessments within the framework of the unit's other assignments.
Your Skills and Competencies
We are looking for a licensed psychologist with the ability to work independently and drive your work forward. You have strong collaboration skills and thrive in close dialogue with colleagues and other professions. Your analytical and problem-solving skills help you make well-founded decisions and create safe meetings for patients.
We place great importance on your personal qualities and strong patient focus!
