We run a well-functioning health center located in Grums, about a 10-minute walk from the transport center and a 20-minute drive from Karlstad.

Your Workplace

The health center has approximately 7000 registered patients and is operated by Region Värmland. The health center belongs to the Southern Karlstad operational area, which includes the health centers Grums, Gripen, Tullholmen, Västerstrand, Skoghall, our digital unit health center Värmland, and the emergency center in Karlstad. The health center is staffed by specialists, resident doctors, interns, district nurses, nurses, nursing assistants, health administrators, psychologists, podiatrists, and a unit manager.

In addition to the medical clinic, the health center also offers counseling, nursing, and nursing assistant services, including clinics for diabetes, asthma/COPD, heart failure, dementia, and foot care for diabetics. We also provide medical resources to BMM, BVC, short-term care, LSS, and elderly care facilities.

In recent years, we have focused on improving medical quality, routines, and our working methods, which have yielded good results. We are currently on track with annual check-ups and waiting lists, and we hold daily team rounds among the professional categories. Patients are divided by birth date, and each doctor is responsible for a specific number of dates. We continue to have a strong focus on quality and improvement work and therefore carefully monitor our quality goals.

Your Responsibilities

The medical team constitutes an engaged working group that has developed a distinct working method that values the work environment. As a resident doctor with us, you will be assigned specific dates to be responsible for under supervision. You will have the opportunity to adapt your schedule and daily routine as long as you also take responsibility for the dates assigned to you. There is also the possibility of remote work. You have a study day for half a day each week and supervision on a weekly basis.

We strive to keep our doors open for continuous supervision in everyday life, in addition to the supervision set aside for you and your supervisor each week. We have an open climate and often consult with each other within the medical group as well as with other professional categories. Our ambition is for your training to be as rewarding and interesting as possible to provide you with the knowledge and experience you need for your future work as a specialist in general medicine.

Currently, four specialists, one resident doctor, and one intern work at the health center. We are now looking for another resident doctor who wants to become part of our team.

Your Skills and Competencies

We are looking for a licensed physician who has a genuine interest in general medicine. We appreciate that you value quality development and innovation work, but above all, you are an engaged employee with good collaboration skills.

As a person, you are responsible and flexible. You work in a structured manner and have a good ability to work independently. In combination with this, you are stable and calm, which creates security even in pressured situations. It is important to us that you always have the patient in focus and strive to provide good and safe care.
