About the workplace

Stensjön is a popular preschool that opened on October 1, 2024, in newly built and well-planned bright premises. The preschool is located in the Stadion area, close to beautiful nature and Malmö's city parks. The preschool's unique layout requires innovative thinking and flexibility that provides new opportunities for play and learning. We base our work on a project-oriented approach with children's participation and curiosity in focus. The preschool consists of three departments where large teams of about nine educators work together. The departments group themselves based on the planned teaching. We strive to create strong teams based on competence placement.

Our children are very proud of their departments where they can utilize several different rooms, educational materials, and everything they can play with. They also appreciate our common areas, which include movement rooms, a dining hall, and our fantastic yard. The wonderful outdoor environment invites exploration and movement with opportunities for gardening and educational outdoor stations. When you meet the children at lunchtime, they stretch and say, "We are going to our dining hall." The preschool has cargo bikes to explore the local environment and the city. Stensjön's preschool is the children's arena where it is important that all staff see all children as everyone's children.

We work for a healthy workplace, among other things, through a health group and a present and engaged management consisting of the head preschool teacher, deputy principal, and principal. In the shared leadership, the management is available for support and development of the educational work.

Job Responsibilities

As a preschool teacher with us, you work to create a sanctuary where the preschool is safe, fun, and educational. You lead and develop the educational activities together with the rest of the team. You have a special responsibility for teaching and work with the curriculum as a basis based on each child's knowledge, experiences, and specific conditions. We expect you as a preschool teacher to participate and actively contribute to the systematic quality work. All preschool teachers in Malmö city have scheduled time (5 hours/week) for reflection, documentation, and learning with colleagues.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a preschool teacher license. We would like you to contribute with commitment, creativity, and a drive to develop the operations. You meet each child with respect and attentiveness. Of course, you have a professional attitude and work for good relationships with guardians and colleagues. Openness and communication are something you value highly and live by. You need to have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

You are secure and driven in your professional role and have gained some work experience as a preschool teacher. In the role, you are confident in your leadership and have a good ability to structure and plan the educational activities. Your analytical ability helps you choose and motivate which activities you offer and create for the children. Previous experience working in large teams is an advantage.

To be permanently employed as a preschool teacher, a preschool teacher license is required, according to the Education Act.
