Workplace Description
The research group focuses on developing new strategies to combat antibiotic resistance through protein design, with a particular emphasis on improved in vivo delivery of antibiotics.
The work combines computational and experimental methods to develop new protein-based systems that can enhance the efficacy of existing antibiotics and reduce side effects and resistance development.
The group is part of a strong and established research environment with a clear focus on mass spectrometry and has access to advanced instrumentation, method development, and broad technical expertise. The research is conducted at the intersection of infection biology, immunology, and computational analysis, where experimental data is combined with modeling and AI-based methods. The group also has a close collaboration with a research group at LTH in Lund, which further strengthens the molecular and translational competence.
We are now seeking a clinical assistant at 100% for 3 months with a desired start date as soon as possible.

Job Responsibilities and Duties
As a clinical assistant, you will work with the following tasks:
- In silico design and validation of antibiotic-binding de novo proteins
- Development of workflows for computational biology related to protein design
- Analysis and evaluation of experimental biological data
- Manuscript writing, including graphic design of publication-ready figures
Requirements for Employment:
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or equivalent, including at least 7.5 credits in Biochemistry, and at least 60 credits at the advanced level in a relevant field such as bioinformatics.
- Admitted to a doctoral program and at least three years of experience in academic research.
- Education and experience of working in a laboratory.
- Experience in protein design.
As a person, we see that you have a critical approach and good collaboration skills. Creativity and curiosity are also seen as important qualities for the position.
Meritorious for Employment:
- Courses that include programming in Python, as well as the use of Jupyter Notebooks.
- Experience working in the Linux operating system.
- Experience with software such as git, conda, PyMOL, PyRosetta.
Other
The position is 100% and time-limited according to HF (Higher Education Ordinance) Chapter 5, Sections 8-12 for under 3 months. The desired start date is February 16, 2026, or by agreement.
