Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for a special education teacher who will work from a F-9 perspective with language, reading, and writing development.

As a special education teacher, you will plan and conduct teaching (individually and in groups), assessments, provide guidance to educational staff, and observe both individual children, students, and groups. The special education teacher also participates in operational and methodological development and provides support to the management in working with students in need of special support.

In your role at Sorgenfriskolan, you will drive reading and writing development at the school together with lead teachers and school management.

You will also conduct professional development initiatives and continuously guide educational staff. You will collaborate closely with your colleagues, school management, and other staff at the school. You will document your work continuously. You will be part of the school's student health team, which meets regularly and works cross-professionally.

Together, you create the best possible conditions for each student's best school.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a licensed primary school teacher and has a special education degree in language, reading, and writing development. You should have previous experience working as a special education teacher. You need to have good knowledge of the school's governing documents and the ability to apply them in your daily work. It is important that you have good didactic and pedagogical skills as well as knowledge of relevant digital tools.

About the Workplace

Located in central Malmö, Sorgenfriskolan is situated in a calm and pleasant environment. The school has two parallel classes for grades F-9 housed in a beautiful 1920s building. Approximately 580 students attend the school. The school works with collegial learning in subject groups and has a particular focus on values-based work. Teachers work in teams around each grade. We work hard to provide a good learning environment for the students. The school day should be characterized by a permissive climate with great respect for one another. Here, the student’s development is at the center, and we start from the premise that everyone can succeed if we support them in the right way.
