PhD Candidate in Educational Work
We are now seeking a PhD candidate in educational work for the project: Socialization, Identity, and Epistemology in Vocational Education Practices
The project is part of a national graduate school with nine doctoral students and ten researchers, aimed at developing new knowledge about vocational education and training to strengthen future teacher educators based on scientific grounds.
The PhD project at Kristianstad University investigates how vocational identities are formed, negotiated, and reconsidered in teaching and workplace-based learning. The focus is on vocational socialization as an ongoing and reciprocal process where individuals become part of a professional collective while simultaneously developing epistemologies regarding practical, tacit, and theoretical knowledge. The PhD candidate is expected to contribute to the development of vocational didactic knowledge in collaboration with school authorities and the labor market, through methods, models, and empirical analyses that strengthen future vocational teacher education.
The project is linked to the graduate school FYSALIS – Graduate School for Vocational Didactics and School, Work Life, and Teacher Education in Collaboration, funded by the Swedish Research Council. The graduate school is based at Linnaeus University and is conducted in collaboration with Stockholm University, Umeå University, Malmö University, and Kristianstad University. The graduate school targets teacher educators within the vocational teacher program and has the overarching aim of strengthening the research base within vocational teacher programs by exploring vocational teaching and learning and developing knowledge about vocational didactics in collaboration between school authorities and representatives from the labor market. For more information about FYSALIS, see: FYSALIS (https://lnu.se/forskning/forskarutbildning/pedagogik/forskarskolan-for-yrkesdidaktik-och-skola-arbetsliv-och-lararutbildning-i-samverkan-fysalis/)
