Workplace Description
The Guidance and Support Unit is part of the Educational Department, which is included in LTH's administration and currently consists of 16 staff members.
In the Educational Department, there are also staff members who work with admissions, examinations, scheduling, and program planning.
The overarching goal of the Guidance and Support Unit is to support students on their path to graduation. You will be part of a team of study and career advisors and counselors who drive and develop the operations based on shared principles. Within the unit, we also work with LTH's efforts regarding equal opportunities and the working environment for students. Our daily work relies heavily on collaboration within the department and with other groups/operations. LTH provides education both in Lund and at Campus Helsingborg.
We are in a development phase and are an organization in change. The working methods may therefore change/modify over time. Flexibility is a prerequisite.

Job Responsibilities and Areas of Responsibility
The primary tasks of the study and career advisor are to introduce, support, and guide students both individually and in groups. The position will be located in both Lund and Helsingborg. You will participate in various project and process groups together with your colleagues but will drive your work independently. You will also be part of a program management team responsible for the development of one or more educational programs. As a study and career advisor, you will guide students through their education, from prospective student to the transition into working life. The work will be conducted in both Swedish and English. With us, you will be part of an engaged and experienced team where there is room for reflection, professional development, and the opportunity to influence your own work.
Examples of tasks included in the role:
- Guidance of students in LTH's programs
- Guidance of individuals and groups
- Career guidance
- Work with LTH's reception of new students
- Providing information on general and program-specific questions
- Guidance during changes in study situations
- Establishing individual recommended study paths
- Guidance before course selection
Qualifications
Requirements for the position are:
- Education as a study and career counselor or equivalent education
- Several years of experience working with guidance
- Very good knowledge of conversational methodology and a strong interest in guidance conversations
- Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
- Good ability to present information and hold presentations in front of large groups in Swedish and English
- Good ability to work systematically and manage work peaks
We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. We are looking for someone who has a good ability to work independently but can also collaborate with many people in different roles. You have a flexible working style and a good ability to structure and prioritize tasks, and you can handle a work situation where many different tasks need to be solved simultaneously in a dynamic environment, with periods of high tempo. Furthermore, you are proactive and service-oriented.
Desirable qualifications for the position are:
- Experience working in higher education/university
- Experience working with technical education at university/college
- Experience working with young adults
- Experience working with diversity issues
- Knowledge of and/or experience in intercultural communication
Consideration will be given to how the applicant, through their experience and competence, is assessed to complement and strengthen the work within the department and contribute to its future development.
Other
The employment is permanent with a scope of 100 percent, starting in May 2026 or as agreed. A probationary period may apply.
