The Department of Commercial Law is now seeking a university lecturer in commercial law, focusing on tax law.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities will primarily include teaching in tax law and administration, mainly course administration. The tasks also involve keeping up with developments in the subject area and other societal developments relevant to the work at the School of Economics and Management.

Further pedagogical training may be offered in consultation with the study director and head of the department.

Qualifications

Eligibility

Eligible for employment as a university lecturer is someone who has completed a degree at the advanced level or has otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge and has other competencies that are significant in relation to the subject area of the position and the tasks included in the employment.

Good pedagogical ability, which means a good ability to conduct and develop teaching and other pedagogical activities at various levels and with varying teaching methods.

Requirements

For the current position, a law degree and a licentiate in law are required. Furthermore, the ability to teach in Swedish is required, as well as completed higher education pedagogical training comprising at least five weeks or equivalent knowledge.

Assessment Criteria

The assessment criteria for the appointment of a university lecturer shall be the degree of such competence that is a requirement for eligibility for employment.

For the appointment as a university lecturer, the following assessment criteria shall apply:

  • good subject knowledge relevant to the content of the position and the tasks included.
  • good pedagogical ability, which means a good ability to conduct and develop teaching and other pedagogical activities at various levels and with varying teaching methods.
  • very good professional experience or other experience relevant to the position.
  • In-depth experience in commercial law from e.g. court service, doctoral education, or other qualified legal work is meritorious.
  • The ability to teach both in Swedish and English is desirable, but the teaching primarily focuses on Swedish legal conditions for Swedish-speaking students.
  • A strong interest in pedagogical activities and the ability to function in a pedagogical role is of great importance.

The Department of Commercial Law is a small department that relies on good collaboration among its employees. Consideration will be given to good collaborative skills, commitment, and independence, as well as how the applicant is assessed to complement and strengthen ongoing undergraduate education, research, and other activities at the Department and the School of Economics and Management through their experience and competence. We place great emphasis on personal qualities. The applicant should be positive, trustworthy, structured, independent, and curious. The ability to collaborate and work in teaching teams will be taken into account. Great importance will be placed on the applicant's interest in participating in the daily work at the department.

Conditions

The position is a temporary appointment for approximately 10 months.

Workload 50 percent of full-time.
