Job Responsibilities

Are you a truly skilled educator who wants to work on pedagogical development alongside your teaching duties? Then you might be the one we are looking for as we seek a lead teacher for Augustenborg School.

Augustenborg School currently has nine engaged lead teachers who carry out pedagogical development on behalf of the management team. As a lead teacher, you will systematically and continuously plan, follow up, evaluate, and develop the quality of teaching as well as the school's systematic quality work. Under the direction of the principal, you will create conditions for each student's best school through leadership and coordination in everyday life. In your role as a lead teacher, you will collaborate with other lead teachers to ensure a high-quality operation. You will work across subjects to develop the school's commitments.

The main part of your position is teaching. You will conduct, both individually and in teams, varied, creative, and enjoyable teaching for our students. You will find strategies to reach each student and contribute to increased goal fulfillment. You will plan, assess, evaluate, and develop the pedagogical activities in accordance with the school's governing documents and systematic quality work. The lead teacher works at their own workplace but also has a partly cross-municipal/administrative assignment by spreading good examples.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a certified teacher with qualifications to teach grades 7-9. To be considered for the role of lead teacher, you should have at least four years of well-documented work as a qualified teacher within the school system. You have good experience in leading collegial learning at the school and possess solid knowledge in language development within the framework of your subject.

It is meritorious if you have experience in mentoring and guiding other teachers as well as driving development processes based on systematic quality work. We also see it as a plus if you have worked with genre pedagogy.

As a person, you have a good ability to organize your work through planning and structure. You are a team player who, through your willingness to collaborate and trusting attitude, creates good relationships with your colleagues. With a strong personal drive and a coaching leadership style, you motivate others and advance pedagogical processes. You are driven by a curiosity to constantly learn new things and improve the operation, while your optimism and perseverance allow you to see opportunities and solutions in everyday challenges.

Augustenborg School is a K-9 school in Malmö's southern inner city with approximately 700 students. The school is multicultural with students and staff from many different parts of the world.
