Job Responsibilities

Do you want to contribute to positive change for those who need it the most? Housing First is an evidence-based working method that focuses on providing a pathway to housing as the primary first step.

With us, the method is the foundation of everything we do – a way of working that is based on respect, trust, and the individual's own goals.

As a field secretary at Housing First, you will work both as a support provider and coordinate efforts based on the case manager methodology. This means that you offer practical and social support to participants while coordinating care and support efforts together with other actors such as social services, healthcare, and other community services.

The work requires great flexibility and the ability to take personal responsibility, as you independently drive your processes forward and adapt support based on each participant's individual needs and goals. You plan, implement, and follow up on efforts in a structured way while maintaining room for creativity and relationship-building meetings.

At Housing First, we believe that every individual has the potential to change their life, and we work together with our participants to help them achieve their self-expressed goals. The target group includes people with long-term homelessness and complex social issues, often in connection with addiction problems and mental health issues. Our work is based on strong relationships and individualized support. Inspiring and strengthening motivation for change is a cornerstone of our work.

You work during the day and have the opportunity for flexibility when the business allows.

Home visits are an important part of our work, but how support is structured varies depending on the unique needs of our participants. With us, the work is creative and created together with the participants. This includes support in contacts with authorities, healthcare, and a significant proportion of motivation-enhancing and relationship-building activities.

Housing First is based on clear principles, and we are now looking for an individual with an interest in the method and its values. We believe that you share our passion for Housing First and its purpose and believe in the approach. You will be based at our office in Gamlestaden and belong to a workgroup of 16 colleagues characterized by a positive spirit and helpfulness. We look forward to welcoming you to our team!

Qualifications

The basic requirement for the position is that you are a trained social worker, or at least have a three-year university degree that the employer assesses as equivalent. You should also have an interest in working with adults with psychosocial issues such as addiction and mental health problems, as well as a B driver's license.

It is an advantage if you have basic knowledge of the Housing First model and previous experience working with socially vulnerable individuals.

You are friendly and helpful towards others even in a stressful situation. You show respect for everyone you meet at work. You are inviting and positive. You work to ensure that the student/client/user gets what they need.

You have a good understanding of how individuals absorb knowledge and their different conditions. You adapt the way you convey your message to the recipient and encourage dialogue, participation, and engagement.

You work well with others by listening, showing interest, and respect. You understand the common mission and work to make it as good as possible.

You have the courage and ability to make your own decisions within the framework of your assignment without being dependent on others. You take responsibility for your tasks and drive the work forward.

You can change how you work when things change. You can quickly adjust your perspective and approach and see opportunities in changes.
