About the workplace and organization

Mellerud and Bengtsfors dare to think outside the box to solve future competence supply and secure the development work of social services! The municipalities have a joint governance and management of the social area. The social area for Mellerud and Bengtsfors is led by the social manager and is divided into five operational areas; individual and family care, care and accommodation, care and support (LSS and social psychiatry), and staff and administration. Through collaboration, opportunities are created to share both managerial positions and specialist competencies in a way that is beneficial for both municipalities. There is great benefit in the collaboration as many issues related to quality development and quality management systems are similar in the municipalities, especially at an overarching level. The Work and Integration Unit in Mellerud Municipality has 15 employees who handle cases related to financial assistance, estate management, budget and debt counseling, housing social contracts, integration, and labor market measures. We have a collaboration agreement with all five municipalities in Dalsland regarding budget and debt counseling as well as estate management.

The unit receives applications, conducts investigations, assessments, and makes decisions about possible assistance. Assistance can, for example, be financial assistance or a social rental contract. The unit's mission is to collaborate with other actors to create conditions for individuals to enter the labor market. This can be through internships, work training, and work with wage support to eventually become self-sufficient.

Job Responsibilities

The group working with financial assistance consists of 1 senior social worker and four social workers. The work means that you as a social worker will be responsible for investigating and assessing the right to financial assistance, working with motivational change work, establishing action plans together with the individual, and collaborating with other units and partners, both internal and external. The social worker has close cooperation with the labor market part of the unit to ensure that beneficiaries quickly enter employment and become self-sufficient. It may also be relevant to take over and work with the Border Walker Project depending on the applicant's interest, skills, and experience.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a social worker or has another higher education that the employer assesses as equivalent. It is meritorious if you have previous experience of working with authority exercises in the area of financial assistance and from working within the labor market unit. You should have a genuine interest in social work, be structured, have collaborative skills, and contribute to a good team spirit. The position as a social worker in financial assistance involves a lot of collaboration, as many of the cases that are relevant within Individual and Family Care are also relevant for financial assistance. Collaboration also occurs with the employment agency, the social insurance agency, somatic and psychiatric care, SFI education, etc. You therefore need to have an easy time collaborating and be motivated to work together with other partners for the client's best.

In your role as a social worker, you will meet many different individuals in various life situations. Your work means making a difference for people by motivating change and a life of independence. A respectful and good approach, a legally secure handling, and belief in the individual's own strength and ability are highly valued. We will therefore place great emphasis on personal suitability. You have fluent knowledge of Swedish and a very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing.

A driving license B is a requirement.
