Job Responsibilities

We are currently looking for a support assistant for awake night shifts at Fredriksdalsgatan 3D, a group home focused on elderly individuals with intellectual disabilities.

In the residence, there are six tenants who require individually tailored support in their daily lives, where needs are influenced by both disabilities and aging.

As a night support assistant, you are responsible for creating safety and continuity for the tenants. The work is based on the individual's needs, participation, and self-determination, with the goal of providing each person with the conditions to live as independently and meaningfully as possible.

The job responsibilities include support in nightly everyday situations, supervision, and safety-promoting interventions. It also includes health-promoting and care-related interventions as needed.

Your role involves actively working with implementation plans and ongoing social documentation. Documentation is done in the operational system Treserva.

You will be part of a team consisting of support assistants and support pedagogues. You will work alone during night shifts, which places high demands on responsibility, independence, and the ability to make well-founded decisions.

The position is scheduled for awake night shifts from 21:30 to 7:15 according to the schedule.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree from the Health and Care program, support assistant training, or the Child and Leisure program with a focus on social and pedagogical work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a specialization in the disability field that includes at least 200 YH points, 120 university credits, or 60 university credits with two years of work experience with individuals with disabilities. The courses should be in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.

You need to have passed Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1. If you do not meet the language requirement, you may need to take a language test through the test user Educateit. The work requires very good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form, as communication, documentation, and secure handling of information are part of the job responsibilities.

It is a requirement that you have previously worked with Low Arousal Approach (LAB).

It is an advantage if you have prior experience working with intellectual disabilities.

As a person, you are attentive with a good demeanor, and you have the ability to meet people with respect and professionalism even in challenging situations. By being aware of the users' individual needs and adapting your approach, you contribute to safety, participation, and a positive work environment. Finally, you have the courage and ability to make your own decisions within the framework of your assignment without relying on others.
