Activity Responsible Detention Supervisor for the Detention Center in Mölndal

At the Swedish Migration Agency, we work with one of the major societal issues of our time – migration. We are approximately 6,000 people here, and we have an unusually important job!

We are looking for activity responsible detention supervisors for the detention center in Mölndal.

At a detention unit, individuals who have received a deportation or expulsion decision are placed, and who need to be available for enforcement. A person can also be detained if their right to stay in the country or their identity needs to be investigated. The detention center is a closed unit, and operations are conducted around the clock. The work is based on applicable legislation where legal certainty, dignity, and security are important.

What does an Activity Responsible Detention Supervisor do?

The role involves planning, presenting, and conducting activities for those detained. You plan activities both in the short and long term and are responsible for purchasing and maintaining materials related to organized activities. You work closely with your activity responsible colleagues to plan and implement the activities together.

Activities currently conducted within the operation may include sports, creative activities, music, art, quizzes, and other forms of meaningful engagement. The opportunities to design various activities are vast, and there is room for creativity and initiative to meet the needs of the detainees, always considering the safety of the operation and maintaining a secure and structured environment for those detained.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a team, has good collaborative skills, and is attentive. You find it easy to make contacts, are social and outgoing but can separate the personal from the professional. You are secure, stable, and have good self-awareness.

Furthermore, you plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively. You take initiative, start activities, and achieve results. Your creative side means that you often come up with ideas and new approaches to work-related issues.

In our work as civil servants, there are also high demands for judgment and a strong awareness of security and confidentiality.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent knowledge acquired in another way
  • Experience in work requiring good service and professional interaction
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing
  • Experience in planning and conducting activities with others
  • Good knowledge of English
  • Good knowledge of the Office suite

Meritorious if you have

  • Experience working with people in vulnerable situations
  • Experience in social work, such as care, mental health, addiction, or similar
  • Education focused on employment, creative activities, or sports.
  • Experience working in a locked environment, such as detention, correctional services, forensic psychiatry, or similar
  • Computer skills and experience in creating visual presentations
  • Driving license (B)

Information

Employment form: Permanent employment with a 6-month probationary period
Working hours: Daytime Mon-Fri. Full-time.
Location: Detention Center Mölndal
Start date: By agreement
Salary: Individual salary placement. Salary range: 28,500 - 33,000 SEK
