Job Responsibilities
We at the Functional Support Authority Hisingen Social Psychiatry Unit 1 are looking for someone who wants to make a difference for our residents.
We are currently seeking a social worker for a temporary position due to parental leave. We are located on Dunfins Gata, just a stone's throw from Selma Lagerlöfs Torg, with good transport links.
In our unit focused on social psychiatry, we currently have 14 social workers and 2 senior social workers, as well as a unit manager. We are a great team that enjoys working together and values our positive work environment, collaborating to support each other. With us, you will have a stimulating and responsible job with the opportunity to influence the development of the unit. We offer a well-structured introduction, professional development, and method and process supervision.
As a social worker with us, you will handle applications for assistance according to SoL and requests for services according to LSS for adults. The work involves maintaining daily social documentation and investigating according to the IBIC method - individual needs in focus, as well as using plain language.
You will primarily meet individuals with mental/neuropsychiatric disabilities, with or without concurrent substance use disorders. The position involves combining theoretical knowledge about diagnoses, illnesses, and the consequences of disabilities from a social/biological/psychological/cultural perspective with your practical skills. This may involve communicating with individuals who have impaired communication abilities and with individuals in vulnerable situations and crises. The work entails addressing individuals' needs both in acute situations and over time, and the case management includes both short- and long-term processes.
We engage with individuals' networks such as relatives and guardians. We collaborate with service providers such as short- and long-term housing, housing support, and home care. We work with other social services, government agencies, and healthcare. Sometimes the job may involve some travel to follow up on services for individuals living outside the municipality.
Dealing with demands and conflicting interests and making ethical considerations and decisions is part of the job. An important aspect is also determining when other expertise beyond your own is needed.
Here in Hisingen, we meet people from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. You will conduct conversations together with an interpreter.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a degree in social work, social care, or another higher education qualification that the employer deems equivalent. You should also have studied social law. Since the position involves administrative work and the issuance of, for example, service statements, you need to have a good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both spoken and written.
Experience working with the target group of individuals with mental/neuropsychiatric disabilities, with or without concurrent substance use disorders, is an advantage. It is also advantageous if you have worked as a social worker and have a B driver's license.
With your knowledge and good approach, you work to ensure that the student/client/user receives what they need. You work well with others by listening, showing interest, and respect. You understand the common mission and work to make it as good as possible.
You regularly reflect on what needs to be developed in the operation through, among other things, monitoring the external environment within your professional field. You plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively. You are committed to completing what you have started and ensure that the work is done correctly.
