We are now looking for a support assistant for a temporary position at Västra Palmgrensgatan!

Västra Palmgrensgatan is a residence with special services consisting of 6 apartments for users with acquired brain injuries.

The residence has high accessibility as all tenants are wheelchair-bound, thus representing a group with varying care needs. This means that the work involves lifting and transfers, of course with the help of aids. The facilities focus heavily on the comfort of the users and include a sensory room with a bubble bath, sensory stimulation, and exercise equipment.

Job Responsibilities

The work as a support assistant with us involves supporting individuals in their daily lives, both inside and outside the residence. The role entails significant responsibility and requires a good ability to conduct motivational conversations to support users in their daily lives and to make them as involved as possible. There is a substantial need for support in care, rehabilitation efforts, and home life. The user should be made involved in community life, which you actively work towards, whether through outings or organized activities. You will work with documentation, implementation plans, and follow-up of these together with the unit's pedagogue. You will also be involved in the work of establishing and revising the routines of the operations and users as needed. The work involves collaboration with users, relatives, guardians, and colleagues. It is also part of the job to receive delegation according to the Health and Medical Services Act.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a degree from the Health and Care program, support assistant training, or the Child and Leisure program with a focus on social or pedagogical work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a post-secondary specialization in the area of disabilities that includes at least 200 YH points, 120 university credits, or a combination in between that corresponds to at least four semesters of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 university credits and at least two years of experience working with support and service for people with disabilities. The education should have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent.

To be able to document, you need to master the Swedish language in both spoken and written form, which means a requirement for passing grades in Swedish 1, Swedish as a second language 1, or equivalent. Those who do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1 may be offered to take a language test through the test user Educateit.

To work with us, you need to have experience working with a lot of physical care work. If you have work experience in psychiatry or experience working with individuals who have acquired brain injuries, it is an advantage.

You also need to have knowledge of social documentation and working with implementation plans. Experience with alternative and augmentative communication is beneficial.
