The Children and Youth Reception Unit 2 consists of two workgroups. One workgroup is a reception group and the other is a child protection team that works specifically with children in sheltered housing. In the reception workgroup, there are 6 experienced social workers, one senior social worker, and a unit manager. The size of the group allows for close management and methodological guidance both in groups and individually. The group is characterized by broad competence, a good working atmosphere, and long-standing experience among employees and management. We work with the best interests of children and their families as our primary focus and have close and unpretentious collegial support.
We operate under SoL, LVU, and LBSB as well as the working method Children’s Needs in Focus (BBiC), Signs of Safety/LÖSA, current legislation, and in accordance with the current delegation order. We receive reports of concern and applications regarding children aged 0-17 years and we have on-call readiness to act in acute situations. We conduct risk and safety assessments regarding children's situations as well as legally secure preliminary assessments to determine whether an investigation should be initiated. We also handle certain statements.
An important task is also to prevent misinformation by meeting those we serve as well as other professionals in their arenas to create dialogue and provide accurate information about the social services' work. We provide good service, guide, and offer advice and support to those seeking contact with the social services for children and their families, including private individuals, other professionals, and partners. The reception also has an exciting development project ahead based on the new social services law processes.
As an employee of the Nordost social services, you will have access to a comprehensive introduction, a variety of training based on needs and areas of interest, ongoing professional development, and external supervision. You will be located at the social office, Tellusgatan 2 in Bergsjön.
