The Psychosis area within the Adult Psychiatry Operations Malmö-Trelleborg offers psychiatric interventions for individuals with psychotic disorders. Our mission is to provide effective psychosis care through respectful interactions to enable a good life for our patients. In both outpatient and inpatient care, we assess, investigate, diagnose, treat, and rehabilitate patients with diagnoses such as schizophrenia, delusional symptoms, schizoaffective disorders, and other conditions where psychosis development is suspected. We base our approach on a holistic view of mental health issues, combining medical, psychological, and social interventions.

The Psychosis area consists of four outpatient clinics, one of which is located in Trelleborg, and three units providing inpatient care in Malmö.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now welcoming two junior doctors to the Psychosis Area! Your primary duties will be within inpatient care, but work in outpatient care may also be relevant depending on the needs of the operations and your previous experiences. The positions are temporary contracts for six months each.

As a junior doctor with us, you will work closely with your colleagues from various professions to create the best care for the patient. The tasks are typical for a junior doctor in a psychiatric department, such as rounding with the responsible attending physicians, admitting and discharging patients, writing referrals and prescriptions, and more. In addition to working on our wards, we offer the opportunity to receive an introduction to working in the emergency department. After the introduction, there is the possibility to take extra on-call shifts on weekends.

With us, you will be part of a secure team with stable staffing of senior physicians, unit managers, and other staff. Since we strive to have a junior doctor on each unit, you will also have colleagues with the same responsibilities. We offer you as a new employee a solid introduction and supervision by a specialist in the field.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed physician with permission to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale are also a requirement. Experience in psychiatric care is an advantage for the position.

As a person, we see that you have good communication skills, where you can convey knowledge and messages clearly and pedagogically. Additionally, you have a good ability to prioritize among your tasks when the situation requires it. You are an unpretentious team player with a great commitment and interest in our operations, as well as a flexible and loyal colleague in the medical group. Personal suitability is highly valued.
