Job Advertisement: Position as Acting Judge at Ångermanland District Court

Ångermanland District Court is a medium-sized court located centrally in Härnösand. Härnösand is close to the High Coast with its unique and beautiful landscape. It is near nature and has short distances between home, work, school, preschool, and activities. Härnösand is a diocese and residence city with a rich cultural and outdoor life.

Ångermanland District Court is an open and modern workplace with skilled and engaged employees. The court has an efficient and well-functioning operation and a very good collaborative climate. The court continuously works to develop its operations and working methods, has long applied a digital working approach, and offers good opportunities for remote work.

At Ångermanland District Court, criminal cases, civil cases, and matters from the municipalities of Härnösand, Kramfors, Sollefteå, and Örnsköldsvik are handled, as well as enforcement cases and certain types of matters from Västernorrland County. The court has an office with a court location in Härnösand and a court location in Örnsköldsvik. About 40 people work at the court.

The court will move into a new courthouse building in Härnösand this year, which will offer modern, secure, and functional premises. The new premises create very good conditions for the court to continue to grow and further develop its operations. At the same time, work continues to develop operations at the court location in Örnsköldsvik.

Job Responsibilities

Being an acting judge means you have a highly qualified, interesting, and varied job. The work as a judge is independent and places high demands on integrity, as well as the ability to collaborate and consider the best interests of the entire court.

The job requires good legal knowledge, sound judgment, a sense of responsibility, flexibility, good collaboration skills, and a positive attitude. Work at the court is teamwork characterized by a high pace. Therefore, we are looking for someone who has a high work capacity and enjoys a varied and qualified job in an environment where we work together to solve tasks.

As an acting judge, you will be responsible for your own division and work with criminal cases, civil cases, and matters. You will lead the work in your division and mentor the trainee who is placed in the division. As an acting judge, you also have an important role in mentoring the court's clerks and in the development work that is continuously carried out at the court.

Qualifications

To be considered for employment, you must be or have previously been a regular judge, be or have previously been a member or clerk in a court of appeal, or have performed the duties of a court clerk for at least six months. You must meet the requirements set by the Judges' Nomination Board for regular judges. It is advantageous if you are an appellate assessor. We place great importance on your personal qualities.

Employment Conditions

Start date by agreement. The positions are temporary, for a maximum of one year.

The Swedish Courts apply individual salary setting.
