Job Responsibilities
The City of Malmö is working to establish Malmö Generate District, a new innovative innovation district in Malmö. The establishment is carried out by methodically bringing together stakeholders to create value through collaboration and increased visibility, with the goal of accelerating sustainable innovation capacity in Malmö, Sweden, and globally. In Malmö Generate District, we work to find solutions to today’s major challenges faster, accelerate the development of climate-smart innovations, and create sustainable growth.
We are looking for a student assistant who, in an innovative way based on their studies, contributes to holistically communicating the content of Malmö Generate District. The innovation district is built on three interacting layers: a physical, a digital, and an interpersonal layer.
The assignment consists of creating content for our website and LinkedIn, as well as creating a basis for an innovation tour in the geographical area that pedagogically and nuancedly tells the story of Malmö Generate District.
As a student assistant in the City of Malmö, you will have the opportunity to practice your academic knowledge in parallel with your studies through assignments within our operations. We offer you relevant and qualified work experience, valuable contacts, and a salary. The working hours can correspond to approximately 10-15 hours per week.
Qualifications
The student assistant program is aimed at those who have completed at least 60 higher education credits and are still studying throughout the assignment period.
We prefer that you have studied media and communication science, interaction design, media management, or similar fields.
You have good knowledge of English and can speak and write the language fluently. You also have basic knowledge of Swedish and can read the language fluently.
As a person, you are curious about the future and Malmö, enjoy working in teams, come with your own initiatives and ideas, and work in a structured and quality-conscious manner.
About the Workplace
The student assistant position is placed in the department of external relations and business, which has over 60 employees and works to strengthen Malmö as a sustainable growth engine. Our department leads the work on sustainable community building and the expansion of the business sector in Malmö. We advocate for the city's interests in various arenas in the external environment and lead and support advocacy work. We work to enhance the city's attractiveness and growth for residents, visitors, and businesses.
The City Office directs, challenges, and strengthens the development capacity in the organization, the city, and the region. We are the municipal executive board's administration and work with a holistic perspective close to the city's leadership. The City Office consists of seven different departments and has a total of about 300 employees. Our departments work within a broad spectrum of areas, and the administration has many employees with high specialist competence.

Information about the Position
Employment Type: Temporary
Scope: Hourly paid. The assignment covers approximately 10 weeks.
Working Hours: As a student assistant, you will work approximately 10-15 hours per week during the day. The working hours are largely flexible. You will agree with your supervisor on working hours that can be combined with your studies.
