Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a student assistant who can help make statistics accessible in the form of automatically generated reports.

Your task is to write R scripts to produce reports based on existing statistics about Malmö's various areas. The reports should visualize the statistics using tables and figures. The work will largely be done independently, but you will have support from your colleagues in the unit. You will be involved in designing the reports together with staff in the unit and in the city.

The position is located in the statistics and analysis unit at the city office.

Qualifications

The student assistant program is aimed at those who have completed at least 60 higher education credits and are still studying throughout the assignment period. A bachelor's degree is an advantage.

The work may suit both students in social sciences (e.g., political science, economics, or sociology) and technical subjects (e.g., engineering). You have a strong interest in social issues and are accustomed to using and visualizing statistics.

The work will be done in R, so previous experience with this programming language is a requirement.

You are meticulous and have an easy time collaborating. You are pedagogical and can present results in an understandable way. You understand and can express yourself in Swedish both orally and in writing.
