Job Responsibilities

The Libraries in Malmö are looking for a student assistant to work on a preliminary study for Språkstart, a library service aimed at assisting individuals and professionals who interact with young children experiencing delayed language development. The work draws inspiration from similar projects, including Språktåget in Stockholm and Västra Götaland, as well as Logopedväskan in Helsingborg.

The student assistant's task is to develop a foundation for how similar projects operate, through interviews, study visits, and environmental analysis. The student will also participate in a network that may become a central part of the Språkstart service in public libraries in Malmö. The assignment includes collaboration with actors in speech therapy, preschool administration, and child health centers.

Part of the assignment is to draft informational and support materials aimed at parents and staff. The student will also compile lessons learned and recommendations for the continued development of Språkstart.

The student assistant will be based at Lindängen Library but will work alongside staff from other area libraries in Malmö and in collaboration with other relevant stakeholders.

As a student assistant in Malmö City, you will have the opportunity to practice your academic knowledge alongside your studies with assignments within our operations. We offer you relevant and qualified work experience, valuable contacts, and a salary. The working hours can amount to approximately 10-15 hours per week.
