Summer Substitute Personnel Planner at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand facilities, and client transports.

We are now recruiting summer substitute personnel planners for Regional Coordinated Staffing. Here you will become part of a group that currently consists of about 26 personnel planners working with short- and long-term staffing planning for the core operations within Region West. The region consists of 10 prisons, 4 remand facilities, 5 probation offices, and one regional office. The regional office is located in central Gothenburg where the department for Regional Coordinated Staffing is situated.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a substitute personnel planner, you will work with short-term planning, which means you will be responsible for various issues such as leave requests, planning client hospital transports, and other matters that may arise at short notice affecting both staff and clients. You will have close contact with the core operations and plan staffing in a quality-assured and efficient manner. The planning will be based on laws, routines, and collective agreements. You will solve short- and long-term vacancies and proactively work to achieve set goals. The role also includes vacation planning and training planning, as well as continuous collaboration with our managers in the region. In this role, you will work closely with operations, so site visits may occur during your employment.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who collaborates well with others, listens, communicates, is action-oriented, and solves problems smoothly and constructively. You have an interest in helping your colleagues deliver solutions and support where needed. You work in a structured manner by planning, organizing, and prioritizing your work effectively. You are meticulous with deadlines and set and adhere to timelines. During a workday, much can change, and you therefore easily adapt to changing circumstances. You may even appreciate flexibility in your workday and see opportunities in changes. In this role, it is important to make correct assessments and priorities despite time constraints. In our staffing planning, many things happen at once, which means you need to remain calm and focus on the right things even when stressful and pressuring situations may arise.

For us, it is important that you share the fundamental values of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service regarding a humane view of people, respect for the individual, and belief in the human will and ability to develop. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. Furthermore, you are expected to contribute to ensuring that everyone is treated equally through your approach. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Completed upper secondary education or other education combined with work experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant
  • Work experience from the core operations of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service or work experience in personnel and staffing planning
  • Very good computer skills
  • Ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Experience with personnel and staffing systems
  • Experience with Heroma
  • Good knowledge of laws and agreements (labor law, working time regulations, policies, etc.)
  • Experience with state collective agreements
  • Post-secondary education in labor law or human resources
