Role as a Strategist for Cross-Sector Collaboration

As a strategist for cross-sector collaboration, you are responsible for initiating, leading, and developing long-term and structured collaboration between the cultural sector and other operational areas within Region Jönköping County, as well as with external actors. The role includes driving and developing collaboration where culture meets other societal areas. You work strategically and relationship-building to strengthen the role of culture in regional development. Your main tasks are to:

Develop cross-sector collaboration between the cultural sector and, for example, public health, disability rights, designed living environments, business, education and skills supply, tourism, digitalization, and public transport.
Strengthen cooperation between Region Jönköping County and civil society through dialogue, consultation, and joint development efforts, with a particular focus on the free cultural life.
Contribute to the development of cultural and creative industries (CCI) by creating collaboration between cultural policy and economic policy.
Promote culture-based initiatives that contribute to public health, social sustainability, and an inclusive society.
Participate in strategic processes for regional development and ensure that the perspectives and contributions of culture are integrated in a clear way.

Your Future Workplace

You will be part of the Regional Development department where we coordinate and lead the work with regional development on both state and regional assignments. With us, strategists, project managers, coordinators, administrators, and managers work in areas such as sustainability, infrastructure, business, skills supply, tourism, culture, rural development, and digitalization. We work together with many actors in Jönköping County to achieve the goal of becoming Sweden's most sustainable, attractive, and accessible region. By strengthening collaboration between the cultural sector, other societal sectors, and civil society, we create better conditions for an inclusive and vibrant cultural life throughout the county.

The position is located in the Cultural Development section, and your immediate supervisor will be the head of cultural development. The section includes activities such as handicrafts, library development, visual arts, and promoting activities in the fields of dance, film, literature, children and youth, visual arts, contemporary circus, music, and theater. The section has a special mandate to work on freedom of expression issues, which is done, among other things, through our asylum work. Based on the regional cultural plan, the Cultural Development section will contribute to strengthening and developing the conditions for art and culture in Jönköping County.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with an academic education that the employer deems relevant for the position, such as in culture, community development, regional development, or equivalent. You have experience in strategic work and in collaborating across organizational and sector boundaries, as well as experience working with civil society and cultural and creative industries. You also have experience in regional development work and a good understanding of the importance of culture in societal development. Furthermore, you have knowledge of public governance and decision-making processes and an excellent ability to express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and English.

As a person, you are proactive and take responsibility for starting, driving, and completing activities with a focus on results. You are self-sufficient and structure your work by planning, organizing, and prioritizing effectively while meeting deadlines. You have a strategic mindset, with the ability to view issues from a broad and long-term perspective and to adapt your efforts accordingly. You are also relationship-building and thrive in social and professional contexts where you actively build, develop, and maintain good collaborations and networks.
