to apply for the job

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new, renovating and expanding, and now seeking more employees.

Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand facilities, and client transport.

The Transport Department (TA) is tasked with transporting and supervising persons deprived of liberty. These are the clients of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service who are moved between remand facilities and prisons, to court hearings, and hospitals, among others. TA also transports persons deprived of liberty for example on behalf of the Police, the National Board of Institutional Care, the Migration Agency, and psychiatry. JOB DESCRIPTION

We are now looking for you who want an educational and developing summer job - at the Transport Department in Borås!

As a correctional officer within TA, you will be part of a team consisting of two to four people, where everyone is responsible for different roles in the execution of client transports. You will encounter a wide variety of clients of different ages, backgrounds, and experiences. You will search, restrain with handcuffs, and supervise the client during transport.

The assignments of TA are varied, which means that your working hours may vary from day to day. Evening and weekend work may be included. The times in the schedule are frame times, usually 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Nationally, it is more common to finish before the frame time ends, and in most cases, you have an unchanged start time. Frame time means that the employer can change the start and end times. Changes are communicated before the previous shift ends. For example, a shift may be between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM (12 hours) or 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM (7 hours).

We wish that you are available for a 2-week continuous introduction during the daytime in the spring. You will receive a salary during the full training period. The planned start is week 23.
