The Urban Environment Administration has a comprehensive responsibility for the city's public spaces and overall accessibility.

We work to create accessible, attractive, and vibrant urban environments and natural areas. The administration owns and manages the tram network in Gothenburg. Approximately 900 people work in the administration.

The Urban Environment Administration is part of the urban development administrations in Gothenburg City. Together, we work to create conditions for a functioning infrastructure, quality housing and premises, an inviting public environment, and strive for the city to be sustainable from all perspectives.

Job Responsibilities

The Urban Environment Administration offers summer jobs with the opportunity to explore and learn more about the management of the city's streets and tracks. You will be part of our dedicated team and participate in various assignments and services within the unit.

As a student employee, you will:

  • continue ongoing work on crisis preparedness for the tram operations, based on work from previous summers
  • further develop the implementation of the NIS2 and CER directives based on the work carried out in the summer of 2025.
  • clarify and document the division of responsibilities and roles related to crisis and preparedness within the tram system
  • map and analyze gaps in the tram's crisis management
  • develop exercise scenarios for crisis and preparedness tailored for tram operations
  • develop scenarios for internal exercises and collaborative exercises
  • contribute to testing and developing decision-making paths and information flows in crisis situations
  • compile analyses, documents, and materials for ongoing development work

You will also work to identify deficiencies and ambiguities in:

  • roles and responsibilities during disruptions and crises
  • collaboration with other municipal actors
  • the transition between normal operations, disruptions, and crisis situations

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has completed at least 2 semesters at the undergraduate level or 1 semester at the master's level in:

  • Bachelor's program in Risk and Crisis Management
  • Bachelor's program in Public Administration with a focus on Security and Crisis Preparedness
  • Master's program in Risk Management and Security Leadership
  • Master's program in Society, Public Administration
  • or education that the employer deems equivalent

As a person, you need to be an analytical problem solver with good collaboration skills. You have clear and effective communication. You work in a structured manner and have the ability to work independently, carefully, responsibly, and reliably. To succeed in this role, we see that you have an inner drive and can handle stress while being receptive and unpretentious.

Other Knowledge Requirements

  • good computer skills
  • good experience using Microsoft365
  • experience working with risk analysis tools
